Inuksuit by John Luther Adams, the Pulitzer prize-winning American composer, is a moody mass-percussion soundscape about wilderness and nature described by The New Yorker as a “sonic and scenic glory almost beyond description”.

Presented at sunset in FAC’s Front Garden, this rendition will be performed by WAAPA’s award-winning percussion ensemble Defying Gravity, led by Tim White. The musicians will be scattered throughout the grounds, moving throughout the performance. The audience is invited to move around likewise, roaming among the musicians to create their own unique experience of the piece.

This performance is part of FAC’s inaugural offBEAT Festival, a celebration of the diversity of rhythm and percussion-driven music.
